You earn a commission of 40% of purchases made and fees paid by your referral for the first 12 months of the referral's account on AlerterSystem.com (see the details on Discount Coupons for exceptions). For user accounts older than 12 months, you can still earn commission if the users enter your affiliate discount coupon code when making a purchase. In that case you will earn the discounted commission amount of that sale transaction only. If the sale transaction is a subscription purchase with recurring payments, you will receive the discounted commission amount for the first 12 months of the life of the subscription.
There's no limit to the number of people you can refer.
You get discount coupons that are unique to your affiliate account. Using a coupon is optional. You can simply refer people to our service via your affiliate link. Or, you can give them the discount coupon code, which they can use when making a purchase on our service. Naturally, you can do both as well.
When someone uses your coupon code with a purchase, you earn the standard commission percentage on the discounted purchase amount. A coupon applies only to the transaction where it's code was specifically entered by the user. In other words, the discount does not automatically apply to all transactions in the user account. For subscriptions with recurring payments, the user will pay the reduced amount on all recurring payments until the subscription terminates.
If the user account is less than 12 months old and not connected to another affiliate, the account will be connected to your affiliate account, and you will start earning normal commissions on that referral as outlined above. You will receive the discounted commission amount for the transaction that is connected to the discount coupon.
If a user is already connected to another affiliate and she uses your discount coupon code on a specific purchase, you will receive the discounted commission amount of that purchase. In this case the original affiliate will not earn commission on that particular sale. In other words, coupons always take preference in determining which affiliate gets the commission.
For subscriptions with recurring payments, the discounted commission amount is paid for the first 12 months of the life of the subscription, regardless of the age of the user account. For single-payment sales attached to a discount coupon, the discounted commission amount is paid regardless of the age of the user account.
You need at least 10 active referrals and one commission payout for discount coupons to be enabled on your affiliate account.
All payments are made via PayPal. Unfortunately you cannot be an affiliate if you don't have a PayPal account.
A commission becomes payable 35 days after the date of the sale transaction. This delay period is to allow for refunds and reversals. Commissions are paid out to you when the total commission amount payable is equal to or greater than $100.00.
A negative amount in your list of commissions or payments means that there was a customer refund, payment reversal, or lost dispute on a credit card payment.
The corresponding commission amount on these transactions are deducted from your commissions by means of a negative amount entry that offsets the positive commission amount entry.
These reversals normally take place in your list of Currently Outstanding commissions because refunds, which represent the largest percentage of reversals, take place within the first 30 days of the transaction.
Lost disputes on credit card payments can occur more than 35 days after the date of the original transaction. In this case the commission amount would already have been paid out to you, and the reversal amount will be clawed back against subsequent commissions that you earn. For these types of "late" reversals, you will find the reversal amount in the list of Currently Outstanding commissions, and the corresponding original commission amount in the list of Paid commissions.
